OCTOBER CONNECT WITH [us]
October at Uptic Studios

At Uptic Studios, we see every project as a collaborative effort based on trust and shared goals. Our aim is to build meaningful connections that elevate your experience, fully involving you in our proc[us]—a deliberate approach that places your vision at the center of every phase.
Our team consists of three specialized studios: Residential Architecture, Commercial Architecture, and Interior Design. We emphasize innovation and collaborative problem-solving, guiding you through each phase of our process: Initial-ize, Conceptual-ize, Visual-ize, Real-ize, and Final-ize. This comprehensive approach ensures that your project is executed with meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.

The Initial-ize phase involves interviewing and onboarding clients and the project team. During this process, we gather all relevant information about the project and its requirements. Uptic Studios introduces the proposed team members and their expertise, providing an opportunity to discuss our services, define stakeholder roles, and establish responsibilities. This phase allows [us] to clearly outline the project’s scope, budget, and schedule, which we use to develop a proposal for our services and solicit proposals from identified consultants.

The Conceptual-ize phase is where we lay the groundwork for your project. This is our opportunity to understand your vision and goals for the dream space you wish to create. During the kick-off meeting, we’ll introduce you to your design team—who will be guiding you through our proc[us]
Here, you’ll share your ideas, inspirations, and desired atmosphere. Our team will conduct thorough site analyses to confirm your project’s feasibility and ensure it aligns with your budget. We work collaboratively to define your space’s functional requirements and develop initial design concepts, floor plans, and 3D models. Through bi-weekly meetings, we’ll refine the design until we capture your vision perfectly. At the end of this phase, you’ll receive a comprehensive schematic design package to guide us into the next phase.

In the Visual-ize phase, we bring your vision to life. We will refine the schematic design by focusing on material selections, architectural details, and building systems. Collaborating closely with structural engineers and landscape architects ensures a cohesive design.
We’ll continue our bi-weekly meetings to review progress and finalize the interior design, including furniture and fixture selections. Once approved, we’ll prepare a detailed set of construction documents, allowing us to submit for permit approval and move forward into construction.

The Real-ize phase is where your vision truly comes to life as construction begins. Our team works closely with the contractor to ensure a smooth construction process and that the design is executed according to plan. Regular site visits and updates keep you informed of the project’s status, while we remain available to guide you through final finishes and fixtures.

Finally, the Fina-lize phase celebrates the completion of your project and marks the beginning of your journey in your new space! To showcase your project’s success, we coordinate with our marketing team to capture professional photography that reflects the hard work and collaboration involved.
OUR PROJECTS

BLOCKHOUSE
This October, we are excited to highlight our work on The Block House. This project exemplifies our commitment to innovative design and sustainable living.
Blockhouse is a great example of an incredible partnership. The collaboration included patient developers, innovative materials, like CLT provided by Vaagen Timber, and holistic architectural design.
Situated on 3 single-family parcels that had to be rezoned over 18 months, this 14-unit project is a very good example of thoughtful infill. The site preparation was done to minimally impact the existing established trees. The foundations are on posts, not concrete slabs, reducing the amount of tree root clearing and damage.

The buildings are all similar however they showcase studio units, one-bedroom units, two-bedroom units, and one three-bedroom unit, all under the same roof structure and on the same building footprint. It’s a great example of a scalable, modular, infill solution.
The bus shelter, parcel locker, and central pathway allow for community interaction and connectivity.
Uptic is proud to spearhead this type of development.
