A retreat from the nearby city, our Pilot Rock Cabin project orients itself toward a stunning view of the homeowner’s favorite escape, Lake Coeur d’ Alene.
Our goal was to create a carefree lakeside sanctuary that capitalized on a one-of-a-kind view and the homeowner’s entrepreneurial spirit.
On the exterior, Japanese-inspired Shou Sugi Ban charred siding lends tone and texture to a deliberately simple profile.
Inside, a corrugated resin rail harmonizes with a clean color palette. Filled with natural light, the open-concept great room creates a welcoming space to gather and relax.
A shed roof offers shelter and shade above a spacious deck. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass railing maximize the view. A poured-concrete patio on the edge of the hillside features an inviting gas fire pit and ample space for hosting guests.
Designed to honor the landscape, the property’s native plants were carefully preserved throughout the build.
