Our Proc[us]: Conceptualize Phase

Our Conceptualize phase sets the tone for everything that follows. Through bi-weekly meetings and collaborative design workshops, we refine initial concepts with 2D drawings, 3D models, and renderings.

We believe that great design starts with a deep understanding of both the project and the people behind it. We are honored to partner with clients to bring their visions to life, step by step.

Our Projects:
With snow beginning to fall and mountain resorts gearing up for the winter season, we want to highlight our work on Tall Timber. This 4,350-square-foot, four-season home is nestled in Idaho’s Selkirk Mountain range. Designed with avid skiers in mind, the home features breathtaking views of Lake Pend Oreille and the surrounding mountains, captured through floor-to-ceiling windows

The home’s layout blends function with design, featuring a main level with primary living spaces, a loft above the master suite and office, and a lower level offering ski-in/ski-out access to Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Every detail is crafted—from the floating staircase that doubles as a fireplace hearth to the kitchen cabinetry that appears to float against the landscape.

The white oak casework, fir glulam beams, and hemlock soffit throughout complement a neutral palette, creating a cozy yet modern mountain retreat that invites the beauty of the mountain setting.
This project won a Merit Award at the 2024 AIA Spokane Design Awards and the regional award for interior architecture at the Luxe Magazine RED Awards. Tall Timber represents our commitment to designing spaces that connect people to their environments—spaces that are both functional and deeply inspiring.

Our Events:
At Uptic Studios, we are committed to our community, and one of the causes closest to our hearts is our partnership with Foster Kids First and Embrace Washington, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting foster families in Spokane County.
Founded by Carol Collins and is now run by Julie, Joelle, and Liz, Foster Kids First has partnered with Embrace Washington for the past 11 years to help bring gifts to foster children, ages 3 to 17 and create Foster Family Experience Baskets for families. This holiday season, Uptic Studios, and Foster Kids First are proud to help procure 300 gifts and 15 experience baskets to be raffled off at the annual Santa’s Breakfast event.
Our People:
