Connect With [us] this Spring
15 Years of Uptic Studios!
April 1st marked 15 years of [us]!

As we celebrate 15 years of design, innovation, and growth, we reflect on the projects, challenges, and collaborations that have shaped Uptic Studios into what it is today. This milestone is a testament to our passion for thoughtful design, our commitment to sustainability, and the incredible clients and partners who have been part of our journey.
Our Proc[us]: Residential vs Commercial
At Uptic Studios, we’ve always believed that great design is a process. It’s why we guide our clients through each phase with intention, from concept to execution. Now that we’ve highlighted each phase of our Proc[us], the question becomes: what’s next?

Uptic Studios is deeply rooted in both residential and commercial design, but the process and approach differ for each.
Our residential projects focus on creating personalized, intentional living spaces that reflect the lifestyles of our clients. We take into account the smallest details—from spatial planning to material selection—to ensure that every home we design feels uniquely tailored to its inhabitants.

Commercially, we prioritize function, branding, and user experience, ensuring that each project not only serves a purpose but also inspires. Whether designing a sleek office space that enhances productivity or a hospitality environment that creates a memorable experience, we approach each project with the same level of dedication and innovation.
Our recent commercial projects have incorporated advanced building technologies, adaptive reuse strategies, and sustainable materials to push the boundaries of what’s possible in commercial architecture.

No matter the scale, our philosophy remains the same: a thoughtful, innovative design that blends form and function seamlessly. Explore our diverse portfolio here to see how we bring this vision to life.

Our Projects: Project Zero- Magner Sanborn
As we reflect on 15 years, we can’t forget our very first projects and one of our most meaningful projects to date, Magner Sanborn, now Chapter and Verse.

Project Zero, as we often refer to it, set the foundation for how we approach design today. It helped establish our core values—determination, inspiration, gratitude, integrity, and talegination.

This project challenged us in ways we hadn’t expected, requiring innovative problem-solving and deep collaboration with clients, engineers, and contractors. In the end, it became more than just a project; it became a blueprint for how we work today. The lessons we learned from Magner Sanborn continue to influence our approach, inspiring us to embrace bold ideas and new challenges in every project we take on.
Our People: A Family Business
While Uptic Studios has grown, it remains a team driven firm with family roots, led by Matthew and Julie. Several years ago, they were able to have their daughter, Elle join.

Matthew brings decades of architectural knowledge and an eye for innovation, Julie’s expertise in design, client care, and team health keeps everything on track, and Elle’s fresh perspective and creative input push our work in new and exciting directions. Together, they have cultivated a company culture that values both creative exploration and client relationships, making Uptic a trusted partner for all types of design projects.
As we celebrate 15 years this April, take a moment to watch how this family business has grown.
Our Events: AIA Design Summit in Spokane
Community involvement has always been a priority for us. We were excited to participate in the AIA Summit in Spokane, where we hosted a table and led a student tour through our studio. We believe in fostering the next generation of architects and designers, and this event was an opportunity to inspire, educate, and share our journey.

During the student tour, we provided an inside look at how our studio operates, showcasing our design process, tools, and collaborative environment. We hoped to spark creativity and curiosity in young designers, helping them see the possibilities of a career in architecture and design.
Beyond the summit, we are continually seeking ways to engage with the community, whether through educational outreach, mentorship programs, or partnerships with local organizations. We understand that architecture is more than just buildings; it’s about people and the impact we can have on the world around us. Reach out to [us] to see how we can partner with you!
